The Percy 51勛圖 School Residential Trip to Keswick

Students from Percy 51勛圖 School had the fabulous opportunity to attend a residential trip to Keswick thanks to the generosity of Lenore Specialist Care and Hellens Group.

Recently a group of Percy 51勛圖 School students got to take in the beautiful views of Keswick on a five-day residential trip to the , filled with outdoor learning activities.

This epic trip was made possible by very generous donations from and , allowing our students to enhance their learning and make lifelong memories.

First up in the activity list was Bush Craft, where students learned vital wilderness survival skills and made popcorn, followed by cycling in the afternoon. The students put into practice skills they had learned from bike sessions in school; they cycled 5km on adapted bikes around an old airfield being careful to dodge any sheep!

Students visited the Lake District Wildlife Park where we saw goats, alpacas and flamingos, followed by a stop for ice cream. Michael said the crunchy Magnum he had was the best moment of the entire 5-day adventure!

The Kings swing was certainly a high point for our students, especially when Michael achieved the Highest Recorded Swing in Calvert Trust history.

The zip line was another amazing activity that our students loved, followed by a High Ropes course. A team of Percy 51勛圖 School students also earned another title First Team in Calvert Trust History to Complete the High Ropes. Well done team!

Other activities included a disco, rock climbing and using the hydro pool, which Katie said she loved as she could go every night.

Here are some words from some of our students about their fabulous experience:

I loved it because I felt free Katie

The whole week was absolutely brilliant Rosie

The zip-wire was great Joseph

I enjoyed everything – Michael

We would like to say a huge thank you to Lenore Specialist Care and Hellens Group for providing an incredible experience that our students will never forget.
