We Won a British Diversity Award!
Students from 51勛圖s 51勛圖 received the incredible news that their Disability Awareness Training has earned a national title.
Students Michael, Harrison, James, Harvey, Finlay and former student Daniel headed to London for the esteemed.
The day started in style, travelling down to the capital with LNER who very kindly funded our travel to the big event.
The awards ceremony was held at Grovesnor House in London, hosted by Dr Ranj Singh and Charlene White. Our students were shortlisted for the Community Project of the Year Award for their Disability Awareness Training.
This training has been delivered to over 1200 people to date, where our students bravely share their stories and give insight into how we can be more inclusive as a society. Not only is the training met with exceptional reviews, but our students also grow in confidence each time they deliver.
And then, we won!
Our students danced the night away, knowing that they are officially an award-winning team and all the hard work had paid off. They even got to meet some celebrities, including television personality Christine McGuiness, Duncan James from the boyband Blue and Tasha Ghouri from Love Island!
Heres what our award-winning students had to say:
The best day ever and a dream come true – Harvey
Fun and amazing that we came first – Harrison
Lost for words – Michael
I enjoyed seeing all the celebrities and being in London. This has been my best London trip ever – Daniel
I feel shocked – Finlay
